Sanskrit mantras and beej(seed) words in it

In a Sanskrit mantra words like hreem, hleem, shrim are called the beej(seed) word in the mantra. The seed word in mantra is the primordial sound which is the major source of power. Often uninitiated people are recommended to say mantras without seed word. This is a stereotypical scare mongering tactic so that the 'gurus' stay in business/get more disciples to provide them energy.
There are certain mantras with only aum, the beej and namah/swaha as well like few versions of kaali mantra. Since beej is more powerful, I have tried saying some longer mantras where I vibrate aum, beej and namah/swaha slowly in kabbalistic way and rest of the words which aren't beej words in a way spelling every letter the way a Sanskrit or anyone who speaks any language in the script would since I can understand the script.
Has anyone here tried a similar approach? Did it work?
