Question #257: Astrology

I want to learn about astrology. I now realize that I know absolutely NOTHING and that deeply shames me. I'm embarrassed to ask "officially" because you guys seem extremely advanced while I only know my star sign. I looked on the JoS website but I didn't find the basics related to my current level. I don't know what a retrograde planet is, degrees, or anything. I would like to know with the members and HP's where to start, with books, links, pdf's or whatever the form. I will delve into the reading and learn everything necessary for me to finally understand. Thank you and sorry.

start by learning about your natal chart, you can look up "natal chart calculator" on any browser and it will do it for you (you should preferably know the exact time you were born). some sites will give you a table of each planet and where it was located at the time of your birth (for example, at the time of my birth, Venus was in capricorn at around 21° 27' and so on, a lot of astrology can be understood only after some basics in astronomy), some will give you a circular diagram (not sure what its called) which are a bit more difficult to read at first. from there everything will go easier

also to add on, a planet in retrograde is basically when from the earth's point of view, a planet is moving backwards (opposite direction than it actually is moving) you can figure out the rest from here, good luck!
