What is everyone here's take on them?

Some find the progressed chart to be more accurate than the natal, and some say the natal chart are promises given at birth.

Also can someone give me their input on combusts? It says on this page: "If combust 1/2 degree to 4 degrees" http://www.angelfire.com/empire/serpentis666/SUN.html
Does that mean all combusts are 1/2 degrees to 4 degrees? Some people say 8.5 degrees...

Well then, I have a combust Jupiter in Sagittarius (in my progressed chart) because of the almost exactly 1 degree difference with its relation to the sun. The planet is in its home sign... does it still apply?

yargghhh the sun should stay stay away from all the planets lol

Progressed charts are used for prediction. They only work through combining the progressed positions and the natal positions, the progressed chart by itself can only inform so much.

Combustion isn't that bad, usually conjunctions to the Sun are relatively good, but because they are combust, the other planet can be restricted somehow. This may or may not be felt directly, depends on the planet in question and what it represents to you (i.e. if it's your ruler, ruler of an angle etc.)

Combustion orbs vary from author to author, but 4 degrees from the Sun seems like the most reasonable orb. The most affected planets are obviously the personal ones, the outer planets don't suffer strongly from being outshined by the Sun.

There's a special kind of conjunction with the Sun, called Cazimi (in the Heart of the Sun). A Cazimi planet is extremely powerful and positive. This happens, according to some astrologers, within 1 degree of orb; others however say Cazimi only happens within a very tight orb of 16 minutes of arc from the Sun.
