New Moon Report
I usually forward these New Moon Report newsletters I receive to the groups. One thing I would like to add- the New Moon this month is at 9 degrees of Pisces. This is one of the *worst* degrees in the zodiac and known as a “fatal degree.” I would strongly suggest if you are doing a spell, not to do it when the Moon is on this degree as it can culminate in disaster. Black magick can backfire and white magick can turn sour.
NEW MOON REPORT February 20, 2006 by Maritha Pottenger
Piscean New Moons are auspicious for any activities that involve the creative imagination or visualizing skills-the ability to see what could be before even the glimmerings of manifestation are present. Compassion, charitable instincts, and the ability to help and heal others are also highlighted with the New Moon in Pisces. New Moon, 9 Pisces 16, Monday, February 27, 2006 at 4:32 PM PST. This New Moon conjuncts Uranus, so the originality quotient and possibilities for radical change are increased considerably. The empathic nature of Pisces could bond with the humanitarian instincts of Uranus for doing good in the world. Or, people may take this opportunity to break loose and break free (the independence of Uranus) from old, negative, emotional habit patterns. A fresh viewpoint in regard to art and beauty is possible. The accent is very much on making changes-whether in terms of rescuing instincts, aesthetic ideals, dreams and visions, or mystical or compassionate activities. This New Moon could be significant for people born around February 27-March 3, August 31-September 4, May 28-June 2, or November 30-December 4. Mercury Retrograde, Thursday, March 2, 2006 at 12:30 PM PST. Mercury retrograde periods are excellent times for review, revision, reanalysis and mulling things over. Thoughts and inspiration may germinate-to blossom fully later. This is a time to double-check the fine print, confirm appointments and directions, and be careful lest "minor details" trip us up. Strong attention to the nitty-gritty is advisable in regard to commerce and communication-the major domains of Mercury. On March 25, 2006, Mercury will be direct again. Jupiter Retrograde, Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 10:03 AM PST. A new phase or chapter is possible in regard to the matters of the house in your chart where you have Sagittarius on the cusp. This fresh cycle continues until July 6, 2006-when Jupiter will be direct once more. The period until then is appropriate for reviewing important life goals, reexamining priorities, and analyzing beliefs and values to make sure we are in sync with what matters most to us. Venus enters Aquarius, Sunday, March 5, 2006 at 00:40 AM (12:40 AM) PST. With the planet of love and pleasure entering the sign of the new and different, we can be more open-minded and experimental about what we enjoy. New directions are possible in terms of indulgence. A "new love" (whether human, artistic, sensual, etc.) could enter our life. Personal independence and self-expression will be more important in relationships. We may need a little "space." We might become more fond of intellectual exploration and radical ideas. Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse, 24 Virgo 15, Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 3:37 PM PST. This Full Moon includes an Eclipse and a T-Square with Pluto, so the intensity meter ratchets up quite a bit! We may be forced to confront old, buried issues and work them through. What we thought was finished may require additional work. Tearing down and eliminating what is no longer healthy is essential before we can make room for something better. Renovations of all sorts are possible. Emotional relationships are apt to pack an extra punch. Extremes are possible. Moderation, patience, and perseverance will be helpful in this high-intensity period. This Full Moon could be significant for people born around September 16-20, March 14-18, June 13-18, or December 15-19. Jupiter squares Neptune, Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 11:06 PM PST. With both the idealistic planets in aspect, fantasies could go overboard. We may get caught up in wishful thinking or romantic, rose-colored glasses. The challenge is to do something that fits our dreams or makes the world a bit better, while remaining grounded and sensible about what is possible and necessary to live in the everyday world. (Reach for the stars, but keep one foot firmly on the ground!) Sun enters Aries, Monday, March 20, 2006 at 10:27 AM PST. Ring that Liberty Bell! The accent is on being yourself! This is a time to focus on personal needs, wants, and desires. The challenge is to be appropriately centered on one's self without being selfish. Pioneering spirit, autonomy, energy, and a zest for beginnings are highlighted. We may take the initiative in several realms.
