We were created by a Being we call Father who designed us with the abilities to attain godhood. This Father Being has been recognized in all cultures and worshipped in most. He designed us to be autonomous beings, not slaves. (Our final purpose is not clear to me at this time)
There is an enemy who desires to keep us slaves. This enemy has twisted Father's truth to render it powerless and keep us from knowing what we are truly capable of. This enemy masquarades as a benevolent Being who desires only what is best for us.
There is a war going on between the enemy who wants to enslave us and Father who wants us free. We decide who to serve and who to follow. The enemy's ways are easier to find and follow because his/her deception is so wide spread and pervasive. The enemy tries to destroy evryone who wishes to escape slavery by sending angels or harmful beings to harass us and frighten us into submission.
Sometimes when people become fed up with the enemy and leave xiantiy (western people) they tread into the waters of Hinduism, only to find the same enemy teachings lurking there along with the same slavish obedience expected of them. Once they get mired in these waters they once again have to escape Hindusim to be free or drown in obliviion and be destroyed. There are good teachings in Hindusim, but they are not mainstream or easy to find.
This is my understanding after only discovering JOS a couple of months ago. The teachings from this sight are what I've always felt in my heart, but never could articulate (and it probably wasn't safe to do so). How am I doing so far? Am I on the right track? Have I missed important elements? Key concepts?
