Help with an effort on myspace.

If you would be willing, send messages to myspace asking that satanism be added to the list of religions you can choose from. It is time they acknowledge us as a real and legitimate religion.

It's a wastes of time. MySpace sees Satanism as a fringe religion in
the same way it sees Wicca, Druidism, etc as fring religions. It
can't cover every religion out there so it covers the major ones and
everyone else can choose 'Other'.

They have included Wicca in their list. I am sure they will see us as closely the same and if enough people ask, we will be added.

It's the same with being in the military, I can't have Satanism on my dog tags because the DoD doesn't recognize Satanism as a religion they say it doesn't conform to good order and discipline.

It is pretty bullshit that we have to be lumped into the "other" section....We should just keep on bitching at myspace to let us type in the religion that we are, rather than choosing from a list of "suitable religions."

Because we won't get them to put Satanism on the map, until it's as big as Atheism or xianity.

They see Satanism as a "cult"....funny thing about the word "cult" is that it used to mean a group of people who were restricted from free-thinking...but coincidentally a group called "the christian anti-cult organization" (i know, it's an oxy-moron) had the definition of "cult" changed to any religion that can be defined as "strange" in a rational or irrational sence. I know but it makes it a much smaller step to jump from wicca to satanism than xian to satanism.
