what is your take on these practices? I have tried gua sha on my forearms and it's incredible, they were never so relaxed, and my skin became red as fuck.

Gua Sha is a very strong reducing technique which can clear pathogens from the layer of the muscles.

It is traditionally used to clear wind out from external pathogen invasion but can be used to invigorate blood circulation in the channels also.

Cupping has many uses and many forms, most of which are related to moving stagnation and drawing out evils from within the body, especially long standing evils such as blood stasis and stuck heat.

I use both and both are techniques one can learn and perform on their own as they require no high level special training, unlike needling.

Just be aware, if you have children and decide to perform these techniques upon them that they do and can leave bruises. Make sure all of the child's guardians know what you are going to do before you do it.. Lest you be accused of child abuse.

Nice!! I recently did my biceps with it and it became so red it’s like that from days, there must have been so much stagnation there. I really suggest it to those who havent tried it yet:)

for cupping if I were to do it myself would you recommend wet or dry cupping?

Definitely dry cupping.

Wet cupping is used to draw out strong heat toxins from the body as well as strong blood stasis. But it is also very messy and doing it on yourself might prove quite difficult.
