Dinosaurs? Clairifcation...

Sorry if I sound strange or somehow uneducated in this matter.

I just got finished re-watching Jurassic Park 3 with my family and they mentioned how the "Raptor" was an evolved species of it's time {it had a speech pattern, could process situations, and even make traps(similar to the notion of cavemen)}.

It got me thinking, though I may not be specialist in this field, I do remember hearing something like this before and it is entirely possible. So I immediately pieced together that maybe some form of dinosaurs might be an ancestor to the Reptilian Race that is against humanity.

I don't really have a specific question, just that I would like any answers, opinions, etc on this matter.

Seriously doubt our dinosaurs were ancestors to the Greys we fight again. Possible but unlikely.
