Hey all,
I wholeheartedly wanted to make a commitment to Satan and so performed the dedication ritual. However, I made some "tweaks" and now I'm a tad worried that I sort of "cheated."
First of all, I couldn't find black candles anywhere. Don't know why they're so hard to track down, but they were nowhere to be found. Instead, I lit a match and burned the folded slip of paper outside.
Second, my blood coagulated crazy fast, to the point where I couldn't finish my signature. I had to resort to initials.
Thirdly, I got a bit overzealous and altered the prayer so that it was more personal to me. I don't know if it had to be exact. Mine read:
Before the almighty and ineffable God Satan and in the presence of all Demons of Hell, who are the True and the Original gods, I, Eddie Danforth, renounce any and all past allegiances. I renounce the false Judeo/Christian god Jehova, I renounce his vile and worthless son Jesus Christ, I renounce his foul, odious, and rotten holy spirit. I will oppose with all my being the fallacy of his teachings and spread the word of You, the only True God. I will remain loyal to your Word past death.
I proclaim Satan Lucifer as my one and only God. I promise to recognize and honor him in all things, without reservation, desiring only the glory of service in the Name of my True Creator.
Lastly, I had to resort to some cloak-and-dagger stealth to get the ritual done without my parents noticing. Considering the positive nature of this ritual, it didn't really feel right to have to do it in secret, as though I were sneaking a smoke in the backyard. Will this affect anything?
And yes, I am aware of the whole "it matters more what lies truly in your heart" situation, but does that stretch far enough to cover my "adjustments?"
Thanks for your time.
