Clean up of area

I feel inspired to do a little clean up of my local area. There are some areas which are hot spots for bottles, broken glass, trash etc... I would be willing to put in a little time here and there to help clean up the area. I however do not have funds currently to buy trash bags, gloves and other supplies to help clean up. I dont even know who to contact. like government agencies which might supply that. or how to collect funds and organize for such an effort. I also dont want to spin my wheels. I would feel better knowing that once an area was cleaned it would stay clean. So, I would need the support of locals who could change their mindset and not 'crappify' the area all over again. 
I got the distinct feeling today That Enki wants me to do something to improve the local setting. I can't do it alone however.

Maybe post on Craigslist or Meetup or join one in your area that is doing these things.
