Just to give you a brief response, here are some articles from Satan's Library which may give you some answers:

https://www.satanslibrary.org/English/The_Afterlife_and__Reincarnation.pdf
https://www.satanslibrary.org/English/Dealing_with_Astral_Entities_5-_Past_Life_Memory_and_Race_Soul_HP_Cobra.pdf
https://www.satanslibrary.org/English/Dealing_With_Astral_Entities_2-_Race-Heredity-Charts-_HP_Cobra_666.pdf

Your karma isn't something you negotiate, it is more like the current state of your soul. Genetics and epigenetics are a physical reflection of this, although they don't tell the entire story.

Does moral/immoral actions play a role in the development/improvement of your soul?

I think if you have that kind of framework for your perception of life it could affect certain things. As for actions themselves... I would have to get into a whole discussion about theories of morality, and I hate that terribly misunderstood topic so I'm not going to bother. I can start you off on questioning your sense of morals and whatnot by asking you rhetorically if a soldier is immoral because he kills people. He's obviously "doing harm" so to say. Is morality based on harm done? What exactly is moral and immoral? These are questions to meditate on, and you can also ask the Gods to help you better understand morality.

I will also give my own simple answer to the question. Developing your understanding of morality and your own moral compass I do think helps to develop as a soul. I think it is certainly a part of advancement. As you rise higher in consciousness, awareness, understanding, perception, etc... you naturally see the outcomes of actions, and you can foresee what is best for the whole, as well as what's best for individuals with their own growth. Morality becomes a natural thing at those higher levels, so yes, I would say it "plays a role" so to speak, although I consider it a natural consequence of advancement.
