How many of you have sickle cell disease or know of any relatives or friends who are afflicted with this disease?
Studies show that sickle cell disease is a result of american blacks not eating foods from our ancestral lands.Africa. Thiocyanate is a common nutrient that is of the African diet. Thiocyanate is found in foods such as Lentils, Sorghum, buckwheat, millet, African cassava, lima beans, ground nuts and plantain.
Many of these foods can be found in urban eateries that serve afro-carribean cuisine.
Traditional diets as well as ingesting herbs native to one's ancestral homelands can be very healing and can alleviate many problems. There is a book called "African Holistic Health" by Laila Afrika and it has a lot of good information on the subject as well as herbal remedies for tackling disease.
