I did the dedication ritual as a young child.
I did it of my own free will and it was an amazing moment for me.
But I wasted many years of this path to drug use and other things
When I was as young as 12 years old if not younger, I was smoking weed and drinking almost daily and to very drastic amounts, I had an inappropriate sexual relationship with a woman in her 40s and I romanticised mental illness and was very misguided .
Iโ€™m happy to say that as an adult I am doing much better, even if it took far longer than I would have liked to make many changes, many changes will always still need to be made and I look forward to my growth. My question is that I been having strong urges to do the dedication ritual again. I understand that the ritual is real and binding and does not need to be performed multiple times, I also understand that what is more important is that I dedicate my time and my work to the gods and my growth, and that simply dedicating without following thru the path is empty.
But is it really that bad to repeat the ritual? My reasoning is that I think it holds meaning because I am of a sound mind , being an adult and also being clean from mind altering substances. I would never invalidate my original dedication but I think this is why maybe I think there is reason to dedicate again. If this is unacceptable maybe I can just do a form of ritual where I give thanks to the gods and dedicate an act of service to them or somthing . I just need to understand because of this drive I have to do the dedication again. Maybe this is a way of showing me that I desire to just be more dedicated in my life towards the gods themselves, I have already taken action to this end and will continue to do so.
Any thoughts or advice? Was my dedication less valid because of the state I was in as a child? Is there reason to re dedicate? Is it offensive if I dedicate again?

What you want now is a new beginning, but for this you don't need to make the Dedication Ritual, because your intentions have not changed over time, you have changed and improved. Making a Thanksgiving Ritual I think it is better, and continuing to contribute with other things. I am happy for you that have improved over the years Brother.

Very smart thinking. Yes, there is a lot you can do for the Gods. Basically, working for the ToZ, giving your spare time for the ToZ community is the same as serving the Gods. So you can do the following: translations, participate in the Outreach, help members here with knowledge you have, also you can ask the clergy for more specific tasks as I believe there are always tasks that can be done by people here. I think TGs would be happy to point you where you would be the best fit based on your skills, talents and areas you want to improve. Furthermore, the simplest way to serve the Gods here is to donate to the ToZ your spare money which will even raise you in Tiers.

As for dedication, if this really makes you feel better, you can repeat the ritual. But keep in mind that actual and real actions in the service of the ToZ, the community here results in actual service of the Gods.

The urge to do it must not be random. You feel it for a reason. Try to feel where this urge is coming from, is it from the Gods or is it from within. You definitely don't need to do it, but doing it could signify a new beginning in your journey. Alternatively you could do a standard ritual, with the details you describe. This is all up to you but first, ask the Gods and watch for more signs if there are any โ˜บ๏ธ

So it seems that actions of your past did not align with the idea of dedication ritual and what Gods want you to do and to be in order to grow and evolve. By changing your actions you correct the course. Doing the dedication ritual once more does not rectify your past actions, but your actions of today, that is, following a meditation routine, for example.
