The vast majority of people benefit from safety measures and they are appropriate because in many cases they will prevent or decrease the risk of greater harm. I'll gladly use steel-toe shoes in an industrial environment despite any AoP, for example. And no, that does not make me a slave... Other people are much more in need of these measures, do you not think? In any case, we are far from ideal conditions where we can approach work differently.

Organizations like OSHA may "limit" your "freedom" but it keeps employees safe from exploitation by their employer. The employer cannot disregard its workers' safety and force them to work with unnecessary risks and dangers without accountability and consequences for the company. It protects people from exploitation by forcing companies to reduce risk for its employees.

The general public cannot be trusted to always do the right thing or take care whenever and wherever care is needed, especially corporations. People make errors, sometimes by mistake and benign ignorance and sometimes by conscious disregard for themselves or others. That is why police and regulatory bodies are necessary.

If you choose to take risks upon yourself in your personal life then that is your right but when it puts others at risk, especially for commercial purposes, it should be reigned in. This is also why building code exists, to keep people safe. Not just you, but anybody who comes after you, which could be generations of people.

If you were talking about the experimental vaccines I would agree, but protecting your eyes, ears, lungs, hands and feet is extremely important. Visibility also.
