The Gods Xipe Totec

Is there a god called Xipe Totec? I don't know much about the history of the Aztecs. Were they like us or were they different? When I look on the internet, they are always shown as a people who sacrifice to the gods in religious ceremonies, but I don't know if this is true or false.
