Chakra Spin Dynamics?

Hello everyone,

I have a basic question, would like to hear your experiences.
Why do chakras spin? As in why is it this motion and not something else? Might sound funny, but why not... bouncing? How is this spinning actually formed within the chakra?
I can imagine it, and I do feel the energy in the chakras, but it doesn’t feel like a full spinning sensation yet. Do you think it is a matter of more practice only?

Could not find any other posts about chakra spinning mechanics (apart from direction of the spin), but TG Blitzkreig mentioned in one of his posts "... even if it feels harder to spin, that doesn't mean nothing has occurred. Sometimes it is better to just focus on the chakra's activity increasing, rather than visually trying to make it perfectly spin faster."

Imagining, feeling the energy in the chakras and breathing in come up easy, but I realised that the actual motion of spinning does not feel like it's full/ complete. Where is this spinning force coming from? Only thought, consciousness applied to it? I don't want to go into fantasy land, but putting this thought out there: can be the case that the point of the chakra is felt in another way and the base another, with some interaction between it?

Also if anyone is knowledgable on physics and could explain how spinning is done, it would be much appreciated.

I too have these questions. I struggle a bit with this I don’t feel like I’m doing it well yet but I have thought it to be out of the need for more practice. I’m going to watch this post and see if you get some good feedback I’m curious as well.

I think that when we talk about the “spin” of chakras, it doesn’t refer to a physical wheel or a mechanical cycle. The “spin” here is actually a metaphor representing the movement of energy and the flow of vitality. After all, chakras are energy centers within our body, and each chakra governs a specific energy vibration and frequency. If the balance in these energy centers is disrupted, energy can become blocked or flow irregularly.

The spinning motion can be seen as a symbolic model that allows energy to flow freely and harmoniously. As energy moves from the center to the periphery and back to the center, this movement feels as if it is “spinning.” The free passage of energy through the chakras indicates the harmonious functioning of the body, mind, and spirit. I believe this is why the “spin” metaphor is used to emphasize that the flow is continuous, rhythmic, and balanced. In other words, as chakra energy moves from the center outward and back again, this movement can be felt as a spiral or circular rhythm, symbolizing energy flowing smoothly and naturally without obstruction.

This is just my theory, developed based on the knowledge of physics and quantum physics that I have.

Chakras are energy centers, each vibrating at specific frequencies. This vibration determines their color, their light. Chakras are light; light, in turn, is an electric and magnetic field oscillating in phase and is a specific type of energy. Each color corresponds to a certain energy, and each energy expresses itself in the soul in different ways (each chakra has its own peculiar function).

Energy in nature follows universal and cosmic laws and organizes itself harmoniously, tending toward states of equilibrium and stable pathways of configurations. Rotation, compared to bouncing, is much more stable and harmonious. The entire universe vibrates, is alive, and full of energy. We can even see in stars rotating around the center of their galaxy, and planets orbiting their star (or even stars, as there are many case of binary or multiple star system in the cosmo), the forms and energy patterns that are favored.

Rotation is a universal form of harmonious energy organization. The “bounces” in your example, instead, are a form of linear oscillatory motion that is not self-sustaining and not harmonious. The universe resists entropy and seeks balance and harmony and we and our chakras reflect this tendency.

I have knowledge of physics, but not quantum physics. Thank you, Saqqaranox, for this explanation, and thanks to Ayleth for asking such an interesting question.

The perception of rotation isn't entirely clear to me yet, but it's a bit like the earth rotating on itself and then around the sun.

With meditation and time, you'll begin to feel the chakra very well, see it clearly, and make it rotate more easily.

Consistency is the only secret to developing our chakras and our ability to sense them.

Hi, good questions and good answers too. I'd like to add my perception of this.

Reality on the quantum level can only be expressed and explained mathematically until we develop further so that we're able to feel and understand it on higher levels.

At the planck scale (or some would even say beyond) there's a specific shape that existence is organized around. Matter/energy/consciousness is built by higher dimensional shapes that are either 9 or 11d quasicrystalline and their lower dimensions projections when taken apart are pentachorons, tetrahedrons and ultimately triangles arranged in the most efficient way to allow for what we experience as reality.

This in turn is reflected in intermediate and larger macrocosmic structures such as ourselves and celestial bodies ect.

The chakras being pyramids encased in a sphere that project a thorus around them when viewed from above or below can be seen as a circle and when functioning optimally it is only logical that they move in a circular motion.

Hope this helps.

I think it's because of a natural law very fundamental like force and counter force. For example a famous explanation for why they spin which may or may not be true but probably not complete anyways, is that a moving current in a cable will produce a spinning magnetic field around it. As a plus knowledge, the magnetic field is what is containing the energy and moving the electrons forward.

You should do research on the swastika to understand this

Thank you so much for the answers! This gave me inspiration and lead to try and understand more about chakras. I'll note here what I found and understood.

Let us start with the visualisation of chakras:
"Each chakra is in the shape of a small funnel, like a miniature spinning tornado in the shape of a cup. The suit of cups in the Tarot symbolizes the chakras, as each chakra holds energy within its cup. The most important chakra is the solar plexus chakra, which is the Grail."

Why are spinning and rotation used in nature, and where are they found?

2D depiction: a spiral.
Much of plant growth is spiral in nature. Think of the placement of flower plants: sunflower seeds, succulents, etc. (Sunflowers are also interesting since the seed growth pattern turns by 137.5 degrees, the golden angle). You can see it present in the way galaxies are shaped or in seashells. To make another connection, notice how the conch shell’s inner structure is similar to that of first nine harmonics *under certain conditions (I’ll explain why that’s relevant later).

3D depiction: a conical helix.
Take the idea of a spiral ‘around-and-out’ into 3D with an axis, and you get a helix. The helix is then like a path and spinning is its natural motion, you then get… a helical motion.

Spinning appears whenever there’s a rotational component, even a tiny one. We know the universal law that everything is in motion.
"The chakras are always spinning unless one wills them to stop …”

Spinning in nature is especially tied to growth.
Now, @SaqqaraNox mentioned magnetic field oscillations and how rotation is a universal form of harmonious energy organization. Made me search about the helical path of charged particles. What does that mean?
See this, it's a quick video to understand: Helical Path of Charged Particles | 3D Explanation

You have a magnetic field guiding charged particles via a force, carrying any components along it.
Some AI explanation: it uses the Lorentz force, where the perpendicular component of velocity circles around the field line, while the parallel component moves along it, so the overall path is a helix.

The same underlying pattern, rule, shows up from the micro to the macro. In space: Earth’s magnetosphere or solar winds and in micro scale: fusion devices, spectrometers, plasma discharges.

Let’s link it with the three-body problem. I’ll let AI briefly explain it too (Tech era is here 💫, let's use it. I actually like making it explain in different ways so I can fact check and understand):

How does that relate to the chakra spin?
Temple of Zeus - Queen Astarte Sigil
“The two bars on each side are the pillars of positive and negative energy on each side of the human soul—the black and white of yin and yang and the checkerboard ..."

The pillars of our souls (positive and negative energy) and the chakra itself are linked/ used in the chakra spin, generating energy. A three-body system, a spin motion.
Let’s see the Swastika symbol reference too. It has many meanings, but since it also represents the solar Chakra (will, power, manipulation, the powerhouse of the soul), I think its meaning is directly double sensed in how energy is generated during the chakra spin.
“…representing the everlasting flow and interplay of the four elements: Fire, Water, Earth, and Air, connected at the center through the Aether…Aligned as four thunderbolts, it symbolizes the ultimate power of the lightning bolt. The thunderbolt moves forward and explodes, continuing the flow of creation through the power of electricity. Without a form of electrical power, nothing can exist: all living beings rely on bioelectricity, and even machines operate through electricity—the power of the “Thunderbolt of Zeus” or “Swastika.”

Now the helical path of particles with the magnetic field has electrical power too, which comes from our applied will to recognise and manipulate the chakra.

The spiral/spin connection with harmonics shows that by vibrating mantras at a specific pitch (/resonance?) we can open them properly. A little imagination exercise. Let’s say you play a pure tone with harmonics into a conch shell (try to recreate this in chat gpt with html code, it will show you a bit of maths, how sound operates, amplitudes, etc and some nice visualisation). The conch shell will not create new harmonics from nothing, but it will boost some of those harmonics and reduce others depending on how its resonances line up. What you measure at the opening is the harmonic series with varying amplitudes, reshaped by the conch’s frequency response.

The exercise is exactly like how the light goes into a prism and forms the colors. A specific tone and mantra opens the chakra.

Bonus question for me... so now, why are chakras cones?

I see that it's now a filtering/separation idea too: energy gets in at the wide end (female receptive, base) and then in a fine focus near the top, apex (male, directing). We always keep in mind that all chakras are aligned to give power to the Solar Plexus.

The energy of the chakra being generated by the spin is going around the energetical bodies, that's the linking element (see the m, of how we search to achieve unity with our bodies (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual), and goes through them, empowers, penetrating each layer if that makes sense.

Another intuition:
The spin movement, the spiral, appears when let’s say ‘geometry favors wrapping’ around an axis or core: gathering and channeling energy along an axis while it rotates around that same axis. Does that mean that the chakra itself has some kind of path in the middle?
My first thought it's the path of Kundalini, but then, doesn't it say in Temple of Zeus that the Kundalini is going through the spine first? However, it also says it's piercing the chakras too, feels like a contradiction since chakras are in the middle of body and spine is well, the spine. I would say the energy of the twin serpent meditation “fuses” these two somehow, but that feels like another topic right now, more advanced.

So in the end I'm left with more questions than answers, but that's why I love it. Step by step they must make sense.
I'm a bit more aware now when I do spin the chakra.

Thank you TG Alexandros for the visualisation.
*I want to clearly mention that this post was done with the help of AI: used in some explanations and grammar correction.
