๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ New powerful translation system ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

translate.png

Hello everyone, I am here now to introduce you to a new translation method made by me personally, it is about various python scripts that have automatically translated the entire ToZ website, to obtain a backup of ToZ I relied on a professional web-crawler that allowed me to save and adapt every single link for ToZ and ensure that there are no problems with the css theme, with the js or with the links, the themes work perfectly as if it were the original ToZ, the only flaw is that this system is not 100% accurate with translations, I relied on external APIs, however after various attempts on my part to create a universal translation system I can at least say that I have concluded something.
In fact, as the first guinea pig was to translate from English to Italian, I do not exclude that in the future I will also do other languages such as French, Spanish, German and many others!!

I also made a demo video to show you the real-time translation while it was running:

For those who want to check it out, here are the links to visit the website or download the entire .zip file:

https://tozita.netlify.app/

I have already uploaded the test website and made a deployment, it seems to work perfectly and I have uploaded

And with this I want to conclude by writing that I am very happy to give a hand to ToZ, I can't thank the project enough, you have changed my life in a positive way and for me this is the least I can do.

I hope that in the future thanks to this method translators will have less effort to translate ToZ and adapt it to most existing languages.
the backups to my archive.org where the portable version of JoS/ToZ is contained along with the audio-sermons in Italian.

Sorry, I accidentally uploaded the same video twice.

Perfect, this is still the beta version, right now I'm dedicating myself first to perfect and complete my biggest project which is the JoS/ToZ portable version which contains all the backup texts with images in the form of ascii art of the entire network of the Temple of Zeus with the aim of preserving its integrity and also made so that anyone can save and access this immense gold mine of information.

English: As for the script it still has some malfunctions, I'm trying to make it as efficient as possible since I intend to translate it into as many languages as possible and not only that, I saw that on ToZ many translations are missing and the old sites are now obsolete, my idea is to create a centralized system to which once the script will work perfectly and as I say it can be used by any volunteer who wants to translate the entire portal into the language you want while maintaining the original theme of the Temple of Zeus portal, then in the future I will also think about the library and I will look for a way to translate PDFs, or I could convert many PDFs all into a single HTML file including images, and you could visit the portal in a similar way to managing the html tabs with <summary> and <details>, these are just assumptions for now, but I will not stop until I have reached perfection, I will use all my engineering knowledge to help and raise ToZ higher and higher, it's the least I can do for the community.

New Upgrade:
Hello everyone, finally after a little time and commitments I managed to bring this new update to my python script for the automatic translation of the entire ToZ website.

During this period various improvements and many bug fixes have been made, arriving from a beta version to the officially stable version, here is the list of improvements and bug fixes:

- Special characters will not be translated or replaced.
- Fixed the bug that removed the HTML5 function.
- Added a system that allows the user from the terminal to choose at his leisure in which language to translate.
- Added a logging function, a .log file is created that allows you to track all the translated pages and it works even if interrupted by CTRL + C.
- Added a more rigorous control system and forced translation, notifying any translation errors and trying to resolve the fact that some pages were not translated.
- Added a way to try to automatically install libraries by trying to temporarily create a "requirements.txt" thus making it easier for the end user.
- Added an auto-replace system in the <html lang="en"> string that replaces the "en" value with the translated language.

I also inserted a shell script for the "wget" software that acts as a webcrawler much better than httrack, however if you want the complete backup ready in your native language you can find it in my mega.nz or mediafire.com library at the following links (with attached scripts):

https://mega.nz/folder/E4I1xKRJ#yP9Aj9DHKA1wsfbDhdsVcw

https://www.mediafire.com/folder/y90mvxjz2b5vr/Satanas

To use the script is very simple, first of all you need to have the "beautifulsoup4" and "deep-translator" libraries installed, then python and pip.

Once you have installed everything, insert the .py script inside the main directory that contains the entire website, open the terminal inside and run the script with the command: "python3 zdarktranslator.py" and choose an option, I recommend option 2 which has a good method, if you use the API too much you risk a temporary reject.

In case you want to stop because you cannot have the computer on while it is translating for any reason you can safely do so, since the file records each translation and records the translations already performed and starts again from where you finished and each time the logs will also be updated.

Thanks to this script you can help a lot, do not even use the computational power of your computer since it refers to external APIs, I'll give you an example, I'm in Italy now and I want to translate the ToZ portal independently, I download it with wget, or I already use the downloaded one, I drag the script into the main folder of the site in English and choose the option: "it", for example for those who are in France and want to contribute to the translation into French just write from the terminal: "fr", for those who are Spanish: "es" and so on, we could give a huge contribution.

From what I have found, the time needed for a complete translation of the web portal and the 600+ files should be 1 hour for every 100 files, so around 6/7 hours.

I also want to conclude by apologizing for the delay in publishing the stable version of the script, unfortunately this is a period of my life in which I am not very well, many things are not going well and I am trying to fix it, I always try to do meditation, AoP etc.. but sometimes I feel overwhelmed by events, but I am happy that I have found a way to finish the script (obviously if future bugs are found they will be fixed).

I hope that with the help of this project we can contribute to bringing knowledge of the Temple of Zeus everywhere in the world.

Epic Update, Now You Can Translate PDFs Too

Finally now you will also be able to translate PDFs in addition to .html files, I have also included a system in case you want to change translation API from google translate to DeepL, applies to both .html and .pdf files

Now you just think about what it can bring and how useful they will be, any one of us can download an English PDF from the main library, translate it into his native language at will and share it contributing and significantly speeding up the translation for all the projects related to the Temple of Zeus, I am really happy with the achievement of this milestone, I am sure these tools can be an essential help and a huge benefit for translators.
