What does wim hof breathing do

Wim Hof's teachings will greatly shorten your lifespan.
 
Breath of Fire > wim hof breath by far. Not even a comparison as the first even done at the begginer level will feel the positive affects during and after and even more at 60 reps for the more advanced levels.

The latter technique looks very uncomfortable by just watching the instructions and even dangerous.
 
What about the cold showers and ice baths he's promoting?

I read someting in the forum by Luciftias that cold showers in winter time are not healthy.
What about in the summer? It seems to me that a cold shower in the morning does increase energy levels and helps activates your blood circulation system.

I don't think that constantly wanting to take cold showers is healthy. These people who promote that have mental hangups, they start because the don't feel at ease with themselves. Wim Hof started it because he was divorced and wanted to suicide.

You have Sirutins in your body, those are 6 Genes. They work when life is rough on you, and are working to get you out of the growth and prosperity phase, and get you into maintainance and repair mode.
They get activated by feeling cold. Especially in the cold shock phase. Probably also when you are feelkng hot. So taking cold showers will very likely increase your life span and keep you young. Also going into the sauna and doing warm/cold therapy should be effective.

When you constantly feel good, have enough food and eat too frequently, eat processed foods that are high in sugar and fat, when you constantly sit in air conditioned rooms at perfect temperature, and don’t move yout body -> Your body will stop to fight, think it’s living in an utopia and as a result start to age faster. You really need to fight against adversity biologically speaking to activate your ancient mechanisms against aging and promoting a healthy body.

This is my view.
 
Wim Hof breathing is Indian Pranayama. The problem is that Wim kinda just makes things up on the spot (like his random pseudo qi-gong thing he does that he admitted to making up)

Stick to the more concrete stuff like actual internal martial arts and Pranayama.

In regards to cold exposure, there is plenty of evidence of benefits, including in the short term with a huge spike in positive neuro transmitters like Dopamine. The ancient Romans used to do this.
