Question #4145: changing sexual attractions

What's the problem? If you find something sexy and it appeals to you, it's not against common sense, it's not harmful to your health and it's legal, then why change anything?

If you want to become more attracted to one thing over another, you should genuinely desire to let go of the thing you are trying to move past or overcome (if that is what you desire). Although, sexual attractions can be changed through programming the mind, as one example. You could repeat an affirmation or conviction twenty times before going to sleep at night for about 10, 20, or 40 days, depending on how deeply you wish to embed this within yourself (this will affect you, and only you). However, I want to emphasize that this should be done within reasonable and healthy terms, and not solely to address unresolved emotional baggage or other traumas, which may interfere and cause significant turmoil in your life. Emotional healing occurs when you can acknowledge, accept, and process difficult emotions or experiences. This process varies for everyone, but it is achievable as long as you remain open to releasing expectations about what the experience will entail or its outcomes.
