Earlier, in a thread, I saw that higher ranked demons and lower ranked demons were getting differentiated which sparked a few questions in my mind. How are higher and lower ranked demons different? Are higher ranked demons more powerful? And if so, how did they exactly get powerful? What are some of the methods they used? Will human adepts become lower ranked demons upon completion of all three stages of magnum opus? How can ex-human demons get higher up in the ranks then? Can ex-humans get more powerful and higher in rank?

I think there is no option to get into higher ranks anymore, which I'll explain in a minute.

The difference between a higher ranked demon and a lower ranked demon is come from both advancement, and time that they have dedicated to Satan

Which means that higher ranking demons have higher power, and usually more tasks, and they have also been next to Satan for many many years.

What I thinks is that Satan doesn't want infinite numbers of higher ranking demons, this amount is enough. The higher ranking demons advancing just as much as like a lower ranking demon, so the power difference will always remain.
Therefore there won't be new higher ranking demons, at least not a lot, but as always exceptions always happens.

If you complete the MO. you become a lower ranking demon, usually working for/beneath a higher ranking demon.

This would mean that Father is gatekeeping advancement, which is false.

The gods have stated after all: advancement has no end, it is infinite. There would be no reason as to why Father would block beings from advancing further. That wouldn't make any sense.

You misunderstood my comment.

What I mean is that the higher ranking demons and the lower rankind demons both advancing, which you prove in your comment too, therefore the GAP between them always remain.

I did not say Satan holds back advancement.
Since the gap between them always remains, no demon will rise to higher ranks, only if Satan wants more higher ranking demons.

Wouldn't lower ranked demons be able to advance faster? Think about it, would a jobless dude with free time be able to advance faster or a man that works for a ceo giving up at considerable time

There are no two things anywhere in the universe that are equal. Two people have different experiences, different strength, different knowledge. Somebody is always better or worse in some way than someone else.

Everything in life is shaped like tree branches or tree roots. It starts with the trunk that is the biggest, then big roots/branches, then smaller ones, then the smallest ones on the end. This is the shape of the natural hierarchy of different levels of strength or advancement.

Ranks in life depends on advancement. Since the Gods have a meritocratic society, advancement directly brings more responsibility. Advancement is growth in power, wisdom and refinement. It's obvious that the wiser one is, the more their contribution to society increases. Hence meritocracy making sure they get higher in rank as well. This only differs in an enemy-dominated world, and only for NPCs, not us SSs.

From the previous paragraph, you can derive the answer to the second question as well, the answer being 'yes'. Like others said, advancement is infinite and eternal, because knowledge is infinite, the universe is infinite and eternal. There's always more stuff to do. Even Father Satan and Baalzevulon advance, in ways more incomprehensible to us. Minor Demons are already beyond our full understanding, let alone wonders of nature that are at the very top of the universal hierarchy.

I don't know who told you there's 3 stages to the Magnum Opus. That's wrong. There's 12, with an hidden 13th one. The Nigredo, Albedo and Rubedo are medieval classifications created by people with little access to knowledge, the majority of which was corrupted knowledge.

To reply to others, like Ol Argedco Luciftias said, no two individuals are exactly the same. That is also true for advancement. The speed at which you grow is completely individual, as are the areas your growth focuses on. It's perfectly legitimate to someone lower-ranked to surpass someone higher-ranked, due to many different circumstances.

There's also no rule that lower-ranked will advance faster regardless of nature and nurture. The example is completely mismatching. No God or Demon is jobless. They all have responsibilities and their roles to play. Unemployment doesn't exist in Satan's Empire, and lazy people who don't want to contribute to society because of selfishness also don't exist.
