Material vs Spiritual squares

What makes the intended outcome of a square either spiritual or physical?

I was looking at Blitzkrieg's Sun Square thread (https://ancient-forums.com/index.php?threads/sun-square-thread-additional-information.76205/)
and noticed that squares for inciting action and getting better sleep were put as spiritual squares.

Action and sleep are physical things, no? So I want to know why they would be affected by the spiritual mantra/square and not physical.

Do physical squares/workings pertain to anything besides what that thread has? (wealth, career and authority outlook)

I once did a Mars material square for productivity. I don't think it did a lot for me.
