How many of you still eat WHITE REFINED SUGAR?

Before I proceed to sugar 😀, I would like to give a REMINDER about table salt.

Do NOT use table salt. USE Himalayan salt. I have it at home in raw form(stone form). It’s difficult for foreigners like Americans and other countries to get pure Himalayan salt from these so called big supermarkets. I had tried once and it was nothing like the one we have at home in stone form.
There is also black salt( not that pink coloured black salt) , try to find it in stone form and the color of black salt is actually Black-brown-ish.

(I do not have time enough for writing a well detailed article on this so I’ll just give a reminder)

If you haven’t quit this white refined sugar then please do so immediately.

Instead, use jaggery powder for all your sugar needs . You can use jaggery to fulfill your body daily sugar needs.

Jaggery is the only thing we have been using for centuries in my community and region.

I had heard that somewhere in Mexico too (not sure about the location) they always used jaggery and never eaten white refined sugar and they had their teeth intact in their old age too.

Why Koreans, Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese and other Asians have abnormal teeth? Disproportionated?

I don’t know genetic factor if there is any but the one major cause for this I can think of is they eat White refined sugar a lot..

So, switch to what our ancestors used to eat and that is JAGGERY.
But you have to be careful and knowledge to know that the Jaggery you have bought does not have any white SUGAR 😄 in it! It is hard to get pure clean food these days.

I’ve been warned to boil the jaggery powder for any sweet hot drink, like tea. But I think it should be ok to use it in tea like hot drinks without boiling it along in the tea.

BUT I think you should Never boil white refined sugar before eating it, in any way , i.e, hot drink.

Or even just honey. Honey is great and should be consumed much more. I even suspect that non refined cane sugar is not so good. But honey? Eat it as much as you want.

Our body needs minerals to digest sugars, if sugars are refined, they no more contain minerals and the body will obtain minerals from the teeth.
So, refined sugar and wheat rot the teeth.

I've cut pretty much all sources of sugar I could, to the point sweet food can make me sick now. Majority of my carbs come from potatoes and different types of rice at this point, plus some veggies.

Anecdote: One thing that weirded out people I know is that I drink pure cocoa powder dissolved in milk instead of the hot garbage they call "cocoa", which is 70% processed sugars and 30% flavor enhancers. Pure cocoa powder tastes so bitter you'd rather eat leaves off a tree directly 😁 , but it becomes an acquired taste. With time, it's actually delicious, and dark chocolate contains a lot of good minerals.

I stopped drinking cow milk a few years back I only drink califa unsweetened almond milk.

I drink it with raw honey and it's even better :p

Thanks for the suggestion. That is also a good alternative, I'll write it down for my shopping list.

Damn bro, that's next level 😄. I use honey to sweeten teas when they're too bitter. I assume you take your honey from a natural source, right? I buy my honey from a farmer a few kilometers away from home that has his own bee nest and produces honey. It's expensive, but it's also excellent.

Yes, local. Also, store milk is bad. but consider raw milk the nectar of the Gods.

Raw milk is very good. I was worried about getting sick when I first got it, because of all the warnings (((they))) give in the media about it. But it tastes and feels so much better. Plus, buying it supports local farmers.

Yeah, there was a time when I could get some real milk from another farmer, but I can't anymore because the farmer moved far away, so I'm stuck with store milk for now. I am not sure if the milk I drank from the farmer was raw or not, I'm having doubts now, but either way it was much better than store "milk".

My mother briefly (for about 2 months) worked at a factory where they produced dairy products, and what they did there is take a white powder with taste emulators or something like that, and just mix it with water and call it milk. Same thing happened with cheese, there was a very tiny fraction of milk put in there, but 90% of the cheese is still just chemicals and powders. It makes me sick just thinking about it, but it is what I have for now.

Making cheese is actually pretty fun, mother taught me how to do it. She learned from her mother, and so on. Of course, the process only works with raw milk. Using store milk will net you some man made horror beyond comprehension.

Sorry, I'm rambling. Anyway take care of your health and eat locally, it's a win-win for all, for the farmer and for you.

Why Himalayan pink salt? If it's for its nutritional profile, from what I've read you would need to eat pounds of the stuff for it to make any difference.

It is mostly because rock salt, especially himalayan rock salt is the least polluted kind of salt available.

Even the best quality sea salt is at risk of being polluted by micro plastics, because the oceans, especially shores, are very polluted by plastics these days.

Himalayan rock salt from reputable sources are very pure sources of salt. The added micro nutrients are a nice bonus that doesn't hurt, but you are right it is not a significant factor.

We made dandelion syrup recently and it is a very good substitute for honey.
This post reminded me that maybe we should switch sugar in the syrup with something different.
Anyway, thought I bring it up as dandelions are literally blooming everywhere right now.
It's fun going outside and just picking them up 🙂

Same thing with enriched flour products. They have been stripped of their nutrients and to make up for this the flour has synthetic nutrients put in its place. Our bodies recognize it as unnatural and turns it into fat. When I buy flour I always get it non-enriched and unbleached. Many brown breads are white with food coloring put into it to turn it brown. Always read the ingredient labels.

I quit using refined sugar years ago. I either use palm sugar or brown sugar. And sometimes I use good old-fashioned molasses to put in my coffee. And I noticed that they've changed the recipe to a lot of things that I used to consider a comfort food. SpaghettiOs they changed the recipe on that and along with it removing the MSG is one thing but then again they had to go and change the recipe on that and it hasn't been the same since. I SpaghettiOs was one of my favorite snacks that I used to open up and warm up after school. Another thing was Lynn Wilson's burritos they changed the recipe on those and many other things. It is gotten to the point that it's not even fun of going grocery shopping because nothing tastes the same and it's not like it used to be. So I started cooking at home and saving money that way. At least my home home cooked food tastes better it's healthy and better for you. We're buying junk food or anything like that at the store is kind of rare. I do get chips and salsa once in awhile. And sometimes I'd like to get a bag of Oreos. Most the time I try to stay away from that junk.
