dealing with overwhelm

I know that there are books written on this subject and I know part of the answer to my question is going to be to meditate more.
Besides meditation how else could one deal with feeling overwhelmed?
I know some of my problem is anxiety but still there is a lot going on.
i try to moderate some of it by being cautious on how much of one thing I watch online- especially about bad things going on in the world- i try to just keep up to date, skim things for the most part.
But what else would be recommended to help with this?
As always thank you for keeping this place going.
I'm getting much closer to finding a job and then i can start contributing money wise though i'm a tad confused by how to convert things into crypto- i understand why you guys chose to go with it so i hope i can understand it well enough to get the job done.

  1. Reduce the amount of frequencies around you (turn off your phone's WiFi when you don't need it, turn off your TV and radio)
  2. Drink more water
  3. Take a walk
  4. Take a nap
  5. Wear comfortable clothes when at home
  6. Listen to calm music (not always, we need some energy too, but you get the point)
  7. Have a meal you like
 
For calm meditating music, I recommend Malte Marten:
 
Introduce a "habit" of applying logic to all that you do daily, including starting more physical routines, material effort and practicality. A notebook will help. Stop completely, do not only moderate, watching negative news, as these were fabricated in this way since the beginning of time to mess with our mental and emotional. They condition the mind, and these issues then creep up and find ways of expression.

i get this feeling a lot and my best way to cope is to clean.
this can be cleaning the house, cleaning the phone, cleaning the files, even a drawer. it works in the short time
for the long time, changing my house or the city which i live in or my hairstyle helps me

thank you but to me this would be similar to putting my head in the sand. It's prudent to keep up on whats going on in the world and i know my overwhelm doesn't stem from this- it had partly last year which is why i cut back when i noticed i was having more anxiety. now a days it's coming from other areas. thank you though.

For example, and you can experiment with this, if you are having a flu or a cold, exposure to negative news will prolong the cold and also enter your subconscious more easily. Part of why medicine is also ultra advertised on TV non stop in some places of the planet. During stressful times , illness, do avoid this please. Reading the news is alright, we don't need to live in a cave, just have a selective care about what you are exposed to.
