I honestly feel like in general this will be really good for you both. I feel this will be long term. However I think the cards have some advice for you, and some important information on your new girl.

I'm going to start with you, and be blunt here. I cannot tell if it is self-esteem or resource issues, but please know you can overcome them, do not let them interfere with your relationship or your happiness. Please try to be non judgemental if you can, as people who are in shitty relationships are usually conditioned to take terrible, horrific treatment.

Is it wrong if I use a tablecloth of another colour, or if it has a symbol on it, for example our Father Satan's sigil or an upright pentagram? Will it affect my reading? I'm a beginner in tarot. I do not use any tablecloth, pentagram or any other props. I don't even do any special ritual. I clean my tarot deck using mantra and visualisation. I use my chakra energies to charge my deck. I use my deck any time I want to. If I'm working with a specific entity, I pray and ask for guidance before doing a reading and afterwards I thank them. Usually I do readings only for my self. Most of the time I get a clear and simple reading/answer. Sometimes they are not easy to understand. About laying the cards, I don't use any specific layout. Before doing a reading I simply and clearly state to myself and to the entity I'm working with that I'm going to put the cards in blah-blah way and the card on blah-blah position would mean this and that (I hope you get the meaning). Usually the answers I get are very clear and straight forward.

I understand that my way won't work for everyone but It works for me and it is very simple. I don't like to complicate things without any reason.

I have a suggestion. We can start a tarot reading thread on JoS. Where beginner tarot readers would do readings for free. Later we will match our readings to see if we got the same answers. It would be fun and we can learn in group that way.

I think it is a wonderful idea, although I must confess that when I said I am a beginner, I really meant the words. If the readers are all beginners we must resolve to the fact that the results may not always be accurate :roll: But nevertheless that's the only way to progress so I totally agree. It would be nice that as many people join. Actually let's leave a brief explanation at the start of the thread!

For example, the all popular Rider Wayte, is full of xtian references. Especially with the High Priestess that stands before the "2 pillars of the temple of Solomon Boaz and Jachin". I can be sure we wouldn't want to use this specific deck if there are other options available.

I use this tarot card. I reversed the devil's card meaning and take it as a positive card, interestingly it has stopped coming when asking about negative things.

I certainly think you can connect with certain decks more than others, so as a reader, you should be open to experimenting if you have the luxury of doing so. The only way to know is to spend some money and try. There's no harm in doing your research before hand, and if you have no qualms using youtube, you can watch flip-throughs of the entire deck.

If you connect with a deck better, you can channel what you need to say a lot better, and more can flow from you.
I have had trouble recently with my new deck (Golden Wheel) because it's new, whereas my Lenormand is old hat and I can write pretty easily with it.

Do not be embarrassed about going with a deck purely based on aesthetic. I was originally attracted to my lenormand deck because it came with gold gilding, I liked the box and the art. I didn't even watch a flip through, I just bought it. That sounds superficial and wasteful at face value; but it has paid for itself many times over. I plan on gilding my new tarot deck myself at some point.

You can see things before they happen. You can speak to the dead, and even directly with Demons. I have even had my psychic smell activated during a reading (only once so far...). I cannot recommend trying tarot enough to people.

The question you really have to ask yourself when it comes to long term relationships - can I put up with this [flaw] for - potentially - the rest of my life? or how is this person going to affect my future?
There's also the risk that he might not mature at all. A lot of people think people will change because of them and their love. No - they will change if and when they want to change, that's simply it.

One thing I learnt pretty early on about relationships is that pain is inevitable in life as much as joy.

To answer your questions directly, if you're really that keen, why not just date him for a while with no expectations. I think the answers will find their way to you in the way they are meant to.

That's so funny, I was just thinking about you. I am not sure if you have done it already; I was thinking about asking you if maybe making a general tarot thread is on the table, and you are more experienced than I to oversee such a thread. I think people see this thread and have general questions but feel hesitant to ask them here, even though some do. I think there are a lot of beginners that have the potential to get started, but they lack the resources/info to do so. Also I am a relatively new face on the forums, whereas I think people would open up for you and ask questions more. I also think there needs to be more information on the actual types of decks (Oracle/Lenormand/Playing cards), rather than the aesthetic side of things which I feel has already been covered pretty extensively by Pammy. There also needs to be more information on the dark side of tarot, angels, jews and Crowley.

Perhaps because they see it as "my" tarot thread rather than "a" tarot thread. Initially I just expected to do readings for those interested but the general amount of interest in tarot has surprised (+ admittedly excited) me.

I am seriously confused sometimes when people hesitate buying tarot cards period. It is 20-30$ at most (sometimes you can get them for less second hand) and you may have a lifetime of answers if you dedicate yourself to the craft. You can delve deep inside people and pull out the things they don't want you do know. You can see things about yourself deeply hidden that you do not acknowledge. You can see things before they happen. You can speak to the dead, and even directly with Demons. I have even had my psychic smell activated during a reading (only once so far...). I cannot recommend trying tarot enough to people.

I found the deck that for some reason was very emotionally attracted into, just in case i decided to check from videos if it has any kosher nonsense, i really liked them when i watched them, heck i even shed a couple of tears because how cool and beautiful they were, It surprised me because I'm not usually that emotional.

I haven't unboxed my deck yet however what surprised me that tarot cards actually radiates with power in similar way just like hand drawn sigils of the gods, i could fell them even if they were unpacked.

I think you could ask a general, vague question like "What should I do in my love life" and the cards will probably point towards one of those paths you're thinking of.... or a completely different path altogether.

I came across this video: https://youtu.be/FfNvV-qKpg4 (it uses rider waite as the example deck but oh well.) which is a good starting point. It teaches you to look at the cards objectively and tell people what you see - no intuition needed. I learnt a lot from this video myself and I've been doing it for a fair while (still consider myself a beginner however).
