Yoga/breathing question

Postby Indina » Wed Jul 11, 2018 12:13 am

Just a quick question,

Would I be able to combine yogic breathing exercises with yoga? Like doing the complete breath in a single position for a couple rounds and then moving on to the next position and repeat?

Or are they not meant to be combined? If not would that push my body too far?

U can combine headstand with breath of fire and thoth
Do 108x breath of fire in headstand
Take a deep breath in and hold for 4 seconds
Then exhale by vibrating thoth until u are empty of breath while applying root lock
And uddyan bandh

This is exactly what you're supposed to do, YOGIC breath goes with yoga, that's why it's the same word... It's very helpful to try things out personally, try for a few rounds and see what effect it has. This applies to basically anything related to power meditation, just try it yourself. In only a few rounds, it's small enough that it can't have any large bad effect and just do enough that you feel what it does. You'll know if it's something good or bad. There really isn't any danger of messing anything up, if you get some sort of slight imbalance it goes away pretty quickly so there's no danger in trying something. If you are wanting to try something or wondering how certain things work together, more than likely it's because that's what you should be doing. Your soul knows what to do, just trust your instincts. This is probably one of the most important lessons, just trust yourself. Your soul knows what to do, and also the gods often guide us by giving us the idea to do something. I like that you're trying to be careful it's better than being dangerous, but you really should just try things like this yourself and see what it does.

Old topic, but yes. In fact, the kundalini yoga variation combines at least 6 of the 8 practices of Astaroth's Eight-Fold Path:

-Asanas (Yoga poses)
-Breathing exercises
-Bandhas (Locks)
-Mantras
-Mudras (Hand positions)
-Meditation

This basically makes kundalini yoga the most satanic variation of yoga.

There are many advanced exercises, though. One who is new should begin with the KY Basic Spinal Energy Series and at lower repetitions.

Hi there,

Yes you can do yogic breathing with yoga. The yogic breathing is actually what we do in Kundalini yoga (sun/moon breath, breath of fire, etc) not while doing hatha yoga, for example. They are very different.

I'm trained to teach yoga and I'm concerned someone told you this:

U can combine headstand with breath of fire and thoth
Do 108x breath of fire in headstand

First of all you want to be very careful doing a headstand!

It's really important to have a strong foundation to your Asanas; good posture, have built some strength up, in the abdominals, the forearms, in your core, and be aware you NEVER put all your weight onto the crown of the head and neck before you attempt this move because if you don't understand these things, and kind of just go for it, and fall onto your neck, you can do some serious damage to yourself, to your neck, or your spine. This is serious.

Please check this video of the proper working up towards doing a headstand. This girl is demonstrating good foundation for the pose. For added safety, do this facing a wall. So if you fall backwards the wall will catch you.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_cont ... 1HbXt5ZRlg

It takes some time to do 108 breaths of fire in the normal sitting posture let ALONE trying to do it in a headstand! This is pure foolishness. I really think thats WAY too much, its bloody dangerous to be telling someone new to yoga and breathing practice to attempt this cold from the start, at such a high rep and in COMBINATION!

Build up to the headstand and also to 108 reps of breath of fire GRADUALLY (and separately) so you don't run the risk of hurting yourself. Start with reps of 9 breaths of fire. So you do the breath of fire for a count of 27, in reps of 9. And slowly you can build that up. 9, 18, etc. And do the breath of fire sitting in the traditional pose, not standing on your head!

With the power meditations, same as with yoga itself, you need a solid foundation in the basics and this is built up by practice and repetition over TIME. If you're a newbie for example, you don't go invoking fire (different from breath of fire, to be clear) for no reason or without understanding. Doing advanced power meditations/yogic Asanas when you have no solid foundation of essentials, you can seriously hurt yourself.

You want to advance SAFELY.

This isn't like lifting weights in a gym. If you feel pain, STOP. If you need to rest, go to childs pose and rest. Build up to advanced postures/meditations gradually, by learning the foundations well first, for a solid practice.
