I'm writing this after having experienced directly the great benefits of this breathing exercise.

The following are some of the beneficial effects that I have felt by doing this (Pranayama):

- It opens up congested nostrils quickly
- Removes any stomach ache
- Invigorates the metabolism
- Raises plenty of positive energy
- Makes you happy and relaxed

Technique :

Place one hand on your belly. Take a deep breath. Now begin to laugh in such a way as for your abdomen to vibrate, as you do when you laugh uncontrollably. Your stomach might ache a little bit as this exercise strengthens the abdominal muscles.

Take a complete yogic breath in immediately after that. Hold your breath and apply the Mula Bandha by contracting your sphincter and pubococcygeus muscles and pull the energy up from your perineum through your shuhumna and spinal column.

As you hold your breath, say an affirmation: "I am extremely healthy; my immune system is very powerful" ...

Release. You may repeat it as many times as you want.

Release the breath gently through the nose. You may get shivers.

This breathwork empowers the solar plexus like kapalbhati and bastrika.

It can fight off sleepiness if you want to feel wakeful. However, it may cause insomnia.
