Can't really find it, but I made a comment in a post where I explained how URL works, divided all the parts with colors and explained every part. I couldn't find it as of now, maybe you will be luckier.
However, by analyzing the URLs you see, you can clearly see that some have an alphanumeric part at the end that makes no sense to humans. Very often that string is an identifier string that tracks back to you.
