The War on Cash

Some good news, the EU has backed off its war on cash. Quote from this article https://www.blacklistednews.com/article/67403/the-eu-backs-off-its-war-on-cash-heres.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook:
"In a report to the European Parliament and Council on the viability of EU-wide cash payment restrictions, the Commission made three crucial observations:
1. Cash restrictions would have little effect on terrorist financing.
2. Cash restrictions could be useful in combating money laundering but are of limited help against tax fraud.
3. There is no appetite among the European public for EU-wide cash limits."

It concludes that no legislative initiative is needed at this stage, so it has pressed the pause button on the war on cash, for now at least.

And from this one https://wolfstreet.com/2018/07/21/backlash-against-war-on-cash-reaches-washington-china/

The backlash against the war on cash has also reached Washington and China. Studies conducted on the subject show that the movement to remove cash is very unpopular - people don't want to stop using cash and rightly so. In Washington D.C city councillors have introduced a bill that would make it illegal to decline cash payments or charge a different price for those paying in cash. Hopefully this will be adopted elsewhere.
