The secret to breathing exercises

I think many of the more advanced meditators have already realized something that is crucial in doing breathing exercises. Its a realization and also a concept. Basically there are mental fluctuations going on inside the mind ,these are characterised as ripples in the water. There are points during the breathing exercises where the mind (temporarily) experiences perfect tranquillity (free of any fluctuations.)

Now, pay attention. During the inhale and the exhale and the inhale. The time that you hold your breath and the time after you empty your lungs, there will few seconds of perfect tranquillity. FOCUS on these seconds so after doing these daily this time span elongates. SEARCH for these moments when your holding the breath and when you've exhaled and are going to inhale shortly.

Your breathe in using any breathing technique and you hold the breath. Now, search for that spot of tranquillity (characterized by a perfect stillness in the ocean.) Your not visualizing anything. Its a feeling and your mind will know after you've experienced it. Then after you exhale the time before you inhale again, focus again and search for that place of tranquillity. Feel the sensations inside your head. Don't visualize anything or think about anything. Concentrate on the breath and then search and focus for these perfect stillness moments.

In yoga these moments are where both the conscious and unconscious switch off and your able to experience your soul fully. These are some key realizations in performing breathing exercises. Your calmness, concentration and focus will greatly increase as you do breathing exercises with this understanding everyday.

To get good at this path you need to be getting good at meditation and you need to understand what different meditation are supposed to do. These breathing exercises help you in your void meditation which helps you in your sigil meditation and mantra meditation where you focus on an energy and direct it which helps you in more higher meditations. These are all pieces of the puzzle that fit in as the eight fold path. If you understand anything about meditation it should be that the eight folld path is the KEY.
