Adding to what others have already said, just because we can translate ancient languages, that doesn’t mean we can understand them.
When you see gold, it probably doesn’t refer to metal. When you see snake, it probably doesn’t refer to reptile.
We have trouble even with understanding some of the more recent writings. Take the 2nd Amendment. We thing “well regulated militia” means “well regulated”, i.e regulated by law. While in fact, in that time and period, regulated meant “made up of regulars, well trained personnel”.
And this was written about 228 years ago. Now, imagine how hard is to understand something written several millennia ago.
