Rolling R's

A while back someone had asked about this and I wanted to explain a little better an alternative technique I learned for rolling R's for mantras.

The best demonstration I found was in this german language video:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kqQ4gxcHPDw

I'm not claiming this is a better way or anything. When I started learning from the Jos site I applied this as I have a shorter tongue and find the trilled R's impossible.

Some of you have said that rolling is not necessary and it has recently been updated on the jos site to say the same.

For me I prefer it this way over the english R and thought I'd share in case it was of interest to anyone else.

These instructions are not for the rolled R, it's for the guttural R of the standard German which ressembles more with the H for "Haum" at the back of the throat, than the Bavarian German rolled "R", which is a teeth-tongue based phonem.
You should look for Russian R instead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBZacz5w5X8

Yes, I know this is not the correct tongue roll. This is my alternate version I adapted because I have a shortened frenulum or tongue connection. I did not like the sound and feel of the english r sound, so after a few experiments I found this way bettered my concentration and the vibration felt more powerful.

So In the German R video:

between approx 0:40-1:20
After gargling she kind of overexaggerates the letters and when she does the sound close to 1:20ish that's about the sound I'm using. It does not sound like the H in Haum. It sounds like a trilled R but maybe a bit duller like a purr.

Thanks for the video link. I will also try the exercises in the russian video, who knows maybe I can do it with a lot of practice despite my issue.
