Hypothyroidism, in a general sense, is a manifestation of a yang deficiency of the body. In other words, it is completely curable and one should not need to treat it forever.

I would recommend seeing a holistic doctor that can better evaluate what may be causing the yang deficiency, as well as what can fix it. In addition to working on the throat chakra, focus more on physical healing and yoga. Since you are treating a yang deficiency, you would want yang yoga like kundalini yoga, Tibetan 5 Rites, or other styles like that.

As far as specifics on your condition, here is an excerpt from this article on thyroid conditions.

Two patterns of Yang Deficiency are differentiated for hypothyroidism: Spleen/Kidney Deficiency, and Heart/Kidney Deficiency. In the pattern of Yang Deficiency with Spleen and Kidney Deficiency, the key symptoms are: lassitude; sleepiness; poor memory; dizziness; ringing in the ears (tinnitus); weakness of the lower back and knees; aversion to cold; dry skin; dry hair; constipation; edema; impotence (men); irregular periods (women); pale, puffy tongue body with tooth marks along the edge; white, sticky tongue coating; and a pulse that is deep and thin or deep and slow. In the pattern of Yang Deficiency with Heart and Kidney Deficiency, the characteristic symptoms are: heart palpitations; chest congestion and pain; sleepiness; feeling cold; pale, tender tongue body with a white, slippery coating; and a deep, slow pulse.

If there is an integrative doctor in your area, perhaps see them and ask if they can provide you with access to crushed pig's thyroid as a medical alternative to thyroxine.

Thyroxine is dose in 25 mcg increments which doesn't always account for body size well and most people on thyroxine are overdosing without realising.

The risks of overdose of thyroxine is yin deficiency.

Of course this can be balanced with herbs but thyroxine is a very sensitive drug when taken orally so many oral herbal administrations can interfere with its effectiveness.

They are best prescribed by a physical practitioner with whom you can touch base often.

Integrative doctors who work with Chinese Medicine specialists would be the best group of people to see regarding your ongoing management of this condition.

I started doing the 5 Tibetan rites every day, and kundalini yoga already, they are helping a lot, the strengthening of the throat chakra too.

The medicine I take is based on levothyroxine, which has a deficit in thyroxine, I take 88mg, is it still bad for me? Do I have a chance of overdose?

Most thyroxine medications are standardised doses and therefore there is always a risk of 'overdose'.

This will not manifest in a short term problem but rather a gradual erosion of yin.

Integrative therapies which provide a more natural and complete product will reduce this risk.

I also have hypothyroidism and have meditated on answers, but been distracted and heavy work schedule. This post is most helpful and an answer from the Gods as my time and schedule is swamped always. Hail Satan and all Gods and SS!
