Wanted to ask our health gurus here if they might know any of such sort of solution to curing years of hypopigmentation.

Someone very close and dear to me has been suffering from this and feels like she has run out of options in terms of a cure. Just to be clear, the condition is hypopigmentation - not to be confused with hyperpigmentation. Hypo is the lack of pigment in the skin at the cellular level - the melanin has been damaged at the cellular level. It's the cells that carry pigment that have been destroyed. She has white spots that started forming around 5-6 years ago, and is found on her skin from the upper neck, up the jaw and on the forehead, and a little on the cheeks.

She used to have an incredibly poor diet through her teen years and into her 20's, but has now changed her diet for the better. She believes it is initially caused by stress, and also used the wrong products like benzol peroxide and a slew of other products. She wears makeup to cover this up, and if she accidentally falls asleep without taking off her makeup, she suffers from severe migraines that can last over a day.

If there are any suggestions in terms of what could be done to reverse this, we're open for any and all suggestions. She's looked at some other alternative methods, and has tried ginger juice and needling, but had no results.

If there are any further questions to be asked in relation to diet, prior health or conditions, etc., happy to answer.

Thanks!

Have her read these two articles.

Has she ever received a blood test, for her vitamin and mineral levels?

Have her read these two articles.

Has she ever received a blood test, for her vitamin and mineral levels?

She says she gets a B12 shot every month and does not have vitiligo.
She says her levels are perfect and gets them checked every 6 months.

She mentioned all the treatments or solutions she has come across are the following:

- There is a doctor in Australia who does a cell regrowth grafting operation. But he is the only one... It's a $15,000 operation (one she cannot afford)
- Needling which she has tried and not been successful with
- Bleaching the rest of her skin to match the whiter patches (usually with chemical peels- some of which have had extremely bad results making the skin worse), or tattooing the parts with a skin tone to somewhat match her skin (which never looks right)
- She did the needling and ginger juice for almost a year with no improvement

She says she will definitely look into folic acid. Said she's read the 2nd article before (or at least one similar to it). She's never taken any other supplements outside of the B12 shots she gets because she has no other deficiencies. She has in the past tried taking zinc but it makes her vomit.
