When we would be getting in a bad situation, which we did not provoce² they influence the surroundings so we take less to no harm.
We are not invisibel people can see our aura etc.
² If we jump stupidly infront off the enemy we are on our own, more or less. We should value our guardiens so stay away from trouble as much we can.

If you wish to stay undetected in public your mind needs to stay in void and your actions should not draw attention. You would still be visible, just missed by people since they would not perceive you.
