I grew up in a large family so I used to use it a lot. When I was not SS I used to do all my meditations with music. I prefer to listen to the sound of wind or rain on youtube instead of disturbing sounds from outside.
Metal music is beautiful but it's very difficult to focus when we meditate.
I don't just use music as music. I associate it with situations (like movies, etc.) that connect to what I am doing at that moment. I don't repress myself based on self "the soundtrack is unspiritual and too childish," I just think about putting myself in the precise mood and not a generic mood. An example of the background youtube videos to when I meditate:
Just wanted to point one thing, music is good for relax, it can be used even as void meditation, the goal is able to be "disconnect" from outer stimulation, ie, can in be meditative state in any scenario.
No, but I can listen to music before or after meditation.
Any serious, comfortable meditation work requires a quiet environment without any distracting sounds.
It is better to meditate in nature and listen to the real sounds of nature than to record, because being in nature you feel the real energy of the earth, trees and the surrounding nature, which contributes to magical and meditative work, because you can use this energy and feed off it.
If you want just a "general recommendation" I listen to outer space music, to put myself in that "cosmic vibe".
When you want "peace/inner tranqulity" (terms I admittingly, come to loathe thanks to "Turn the Other Cheek" mentality of New Age and Buddhist groups), then you should listen to Chinese and Asian temple music.
But I'm gonna be frank here, peace and tranqulity doesn't form the entirety of spirituality. I live around toxic degenerates that I hate, and I blast heavy metal music - so yeah, Slayer, AC/DC, Metallica, typical shit that you listen to when pissed off. Listening to "peace/tranquility" music around degenerates that makes me feel MORE vulnerable.
People in my family know that I meditate and picture me as some kind of stereotypical peaceful monk because they see all the Chinese calligraphy in my room and see the Chinese books in my desks....and they get horrified when I realize that I be meditating to extremely violent-sounding heavy metal.
Do share some (at least the matrix without affirmations) if they're not so personal that you'd rather not. I used to do that as well quite some years ago but then transitioned to instruments. A simple acoustic guitar and a voice recorder works just fine these days.

OK, try this one...this is an ancient Orphic Hymn to Hercules I redid with a female voice. I just did this today, so I will be using it tonight. The female voice elicits a stronger response in males (Don't know if you are, but I am) so I am doing a lot of my meditations this way. I can tweak this if there is something you want changed. Hope this zip posts....
To everyone: If any of you would be interested in meditational tracks, of music, nature sounds, etc, with brainwave entrainment, I am able to make such and share.
There is absolutely no reason why this song would be rejected:
Or rejecting my second reply to the Rudolf where I encouraged him to make music, kindly and respectfully basically answering to his request.
Sorry guys but with all due respect I would not be posting anymore. There is nothing that pisses me off more than irrationality and it's non negotiable. My best wishes!

Well, it was probably deleted due to the band name, as well as that it does not look like traditional meditative music.
While it is possible a mistake was made, we also have to understand how what we post reflects on us, and how others can perceive this. My perception of your account before you had written this message, for example, was that you were a new account posting a bunch of off-topic music videos, so I am not surprised that this caused a bit of clash with the moderation team.
However, there is no reason any issues cannot be rectified and your position restored, but it requires some understanding from all sides.
