TESEM...The Ancient Egyptian Hunting Dog 𓃡
Tesem (Ancient Egyptian: ṯzm, tjezem; ) was the ancient Egyptian name for "hunting dog" and in their popular literature it is the prick-eared, leggy dog with a curled tail from the early Egyptian age, but it was also used as reference to the lop-eared "Saluki/Sloughi" type 𓃡
It was one of several kinds of dogs which could be found Ancient Egypt 𓃡

One of the earliest known recordings of these dogs is the "Khufu dog" from the tomb of Pharaoh Khufu, who reigned between 2609 and 2584 BC 𓃡
Another one of the Earliest Recordings was the TESEM Called "ABUWTIYUW", Which was a Royal Guard dog of The Sixth Dynasty of Pharaohs... which had the privilege of being Subjected to a complex Ceremonial Burial in the Giza Necropolis 𓃡

and while the TESEM might be Considered extinct, there's still some Dog breeds Outthere which closely resembles it, not only in Appearance , but also, we can say, in Name,in one specific case... The "PHARAOH HOUND" Breed can be Considered the Successor of the ancient TESEM, even though it's being argued that genetically speaking, TESEM's are not exactly their Ancestors...Still, it appears to be the closest we can get to the Ancient Egyptian Dogs in question , aside from a few other races such as the African barkless dog "Basenji", the "Africanis" and the "Azawakh", which might be potentially considered their Successors aswell 𓃡
