Question #3033: Mars Square

I am making Mars square, I started to feel its effects in a short time but I feel that it is affecting me badly on the one hand.

Mars in my chart is very dominant and I think I am making it even more dominant with Mars square, because I am making a physical Mars square which increases willpower, strength and things like that and I feel/imagine a great anger while making the square.

What do you say about this?

Working with Mars will always create more intense anger and sexuality. Anger and impatience with the way things are is the seed of willpower in many cases, and just characteristic of both Aries and Scorpio in different ways.

You can use the Venus and Moon Squares to balance this out, augmenting for harmoniousness with others or being more emotionally receptive to others, while retaining that strength.

Mars is the Lesser Malefic and it can cause small side effects when you first use its energy. You may experience some 'negative' traits and rulerships of mars in the beginning of your workings like intense anger, impatience, increased and/or extreme sexual lust, burns, pains, toothaches, infections...

It depends on how well you can handle the energy and program it to have positive outcomes, but you can sometimes still have small negative side effects. When I first started using Martian energy I started having toothaches and my sexual desire greatly increased and I seemed to get angered and agitated more easily than normal. I also had a huge infectious boil appear on under my armpit but it eventually went away along with the toothaches as I kept progressing further with the mars square and eventually I started seeing positive results. I felt the urge to workout more and I had much more energy during my workouts and I just have the desire to get things done instead of sitting around and being lazy, which was one of my goals for the square.

I also had a small accident where I spilled boiling water on my hand and burned my fingers pretty bad. All of these things started happening at once within the first week of using Martian energy but they eventually stopped and I started seeing positive results.

Scorpio Mars is pretty serious energy and many people can benefit extremely well from it. It just depends on if you can handle the square or using its mantra without being overwhelmed by any negative traits that it may cause to manifest. Keep your AoP up and most of the bad stuff can be avoided.

I used a mars mantra on its own once and found that it made me eager for conflict. I also had bursts of energy. It felt great, even if it was risky.

Do you think the side effects are based on your natal mars?

Possibly. This is something I've wondered about and I have noticed things like this happening to me from my own personal workings. If we have a bad natal planet that is afflicted with bad karma and placements then doing a square may cause negative effects of that planet to be pushed to the surface and manifest in our lives.

When we use planetary energies we flood the soul with the chosen Planet's energy along with what sign the planet is in. This mixes with our natal placement and sign that the planet is in, along with any karma that's attached to that natal planet. It depends on how well you program the raised energy to manifest and if you have done any freeing the soul workings to remove negative traits from that planet. If someone has Mars in Libra or Cancer, and if this person is a man, he can sometimes be far more withdrawn and nonconfrontational and nonassertive with his actions in life. When we use the squares to empower our natal Mars, this energy mixes and 'fixes' many of the afflicted and weakened traits of our natal mars. It can make someone more assertive and confrontational with high energy as this is typical Martian energy when we perform a square with Mars in Aries or Scorpio. Scorpio is a fixed sign and using a Mars square while Mars is in Scorpio the effects can be way more long lasting and/or permanent if we program the energy properly.

Eventually after repeated workings with planetary energies we can completely transform any negative traits and placements within our charts and replace it with the energy of the planet/sign combo of our choice. But our natal planet's influence is still there and will still have some affect on us in life in some way.

We can also empower any house that we chose with the squares, not just the houses they rule in our charts. I think I read this from Blitzkreig's Sun Square topic a while back. Just like we can program solar energy to empower or influence any aspect of our souls, we can also affirm and program other planetary squares to empower or add a planetary influence to the different houses in our charts and areas of our lives.
