If we want to improve our social standing in life or our overall fame or career then should we empower the planet that rules our 10th house? and what if that natal planet is in a different house like the 5th or 7th or something like that other than the 10th? how will a planetary square affect that and how should we approach and work on the 10th house areas of our lives?

These things are ruled by the sun, while the career specifically is ruled by the 10th house as well as public affairs. the 10th house is Saturn's natural home, but if another planet (or even Saturn for that matter) is here the affairs of the 10th house will experience things through the nature of the planet that is in it as well as the sign and the planet ruling the sign on the cusp of this house is the ruler of the 10th house in your chart. Say for example your 10th house cusp (MC) is in Libra then your 10th house ruler is Venus because Libra is ruled by Venus. If Venus is in another house besides the 10th, The affairs of this house can affect the 10th for good or ill directly or indirectly or be intertwined somehow. The affairs of this house will connect to your reputation, public or career standing, and also how you relate to others, and vice versa especially if this happens to be the 7th house. If your 10th house ruler is in the 8th, it could even be an indication of how you would make money or handle loans. It could indicate the reputation of your borrowing habits and credit.

If you are having problems with your 10th house ruler or with your 10th house planets if any, you can do workings to remove negative karma if they are that severe or try planetary squares (I would strongly suggest the first option first before anything if any of these planets happen to be Saturn and/or Mars. These are the malefics and can kick up especially nasty dross that can even be amplified during the right transit.)
