So I was just wondering if anyone knows of any good books on hypnosis? I plan on buying doctor William Wesleys "practical lesson in hypnosis" since it was mentioned in the satanic bible by Anton Szandor LaVey. I've read almost every book by LaVey and nearly every book mentioned in the satanic bible. Lately I've been reading a lot of Sigmund Freud (a general introduction to psychoanalysis, the basic writings of Sigmund Freud). I have become very interested in hypnosis. Can anyone help me out? Im looking for good stuff not books that were written to make the author money. I want a book that is good for the individual. Thanks guys. Also this is my first post so if anyone thinks they lead me to a guide on here let me know. Hail Satan!!!

Maybe there's a bit more of it than that mentioned. To put others into a trance in which they can remember nothing and have the impulsive desire to do as the practitioner instructed is definitely a art. And a understanding of the process and science behind this is my goal. To be able to practice such a deed would be pretty cool. Also how are you to build a astral temple if you can't project, how can you project your conscious if you can't influence another homo sapiens through hypnosis. Maybe I don't make sense but that is because I am still an initiate. I believe that seeing and molding astral light has something to do with the sensations (colors, line, hardness)(Wundt) that you receive through your sensory registers and a true understanding of hypnosis is essential to the process but maybe I'm wrong here. Thank you for your help. Hail Satan!

I agree with Aquarius on this. All hypnosis does is brings you into a trance. When we consider the pendulum swinging that hypnotists use, this is very much akin to entering a trance as described on the JoS website; a repeating pattern that brings our mind into an alpha-wave state.

To enter a trance we input a repeating pattern into our conscious mind which further connects our 'logical' mind to our subconscious mind. Essentially our conscious mind becomes quieted, thus in affect amplifying our subconscious mind. This allows us to program said subconsciousness via affirmations. Our subconscious is the route in which we can better connect to the ethereal realm.

I'd also suggest meditation over hypnosis because it teaches us how to manifest our own reality, whereas hypnosis is a form of conditioning via triggering autonomic responses. It's brainwashing and it can (for some) be damaging in that it alters our mind against our will and our awareness, whereas through meditation we are in complete control.

When we meditate we have the ability to influence the energy inside, around and outside of us. I also don't recommend holding LaVey's teachings to heart. Albeit there may be tiny bits of truth, the reality here is LaVeyan Satanism is opposite to Spritual Satanism in many regards. This is the kind of Satanism that the elites incorporate; allowing for things such as child sacrifice and such. This comes from the concept 'do as thou wilt'... a very corrupt and immoral philosophy of which has no place in Spiritual Satanism. We follow natural law, yet we also follow the principles of what is inherently just and righteous. Satan and our Gods show us truth and the path to what is right.

I'd recommend reading some works from Fredrick Nietzsche to gain a better understanding of these ideas.

Thanks for the input I really appreciate it. I've been wanting to read some Nietzsche but I have so much to do and only so many hours in a day. I absolutely plan on studying Nietzsche's work. Also I'm a beginner with the meditation. I have been practicing the basic yogi breathing exercises on jos for about a week now and have only two more to learn. I suppose that by the end of the year I should have some knowledge and a bit of experience with the meditation. Thanks again, and Hail Satan.

I'm happy to hear that! I should also apologize for the hyperbole in my response.

As Satanists we aren't anti-science and my comparing hypnosis to 'brainwashing' is a bit extreme. It's more a form of conditioning and I shouldn't be quick to dismiss it as completely useless as (depending on the individual) it may help them greatly.

By this I generally mean those who have severe mental problems or addictions. These individuals may indeed find benefit in hypnosis. That said, I'm very happy you see the benefit to meditation and it sounds like you're on a great path.
